“I lost you, and there’s nothing I can do”

On a day like this, I watch people pass by and stare into the distance as I let my mind wander away  ̶ wondering how you’re doing. I wonder how often I would sneak into your thoughts. Do I even cross your mind nowadays? It’s quite difficult to put into words, how you make me feel. I hate you that I want you to go away but I also love you that I want you to stay. You’re like a star that seemed to pass. It was beautiful while it lasted but it’s gone now. I lost you, and there’s nothing I can do.
